Kesler had a NTC and could pick and choose his landing spot. Kane doesn't. Totally different markets with different price points. Starting asking price is Devante Smith-Pelly + Nick Ritchie. Anything less than that and Jets will hold onto him. How many guys with Kane's size, speed and have already scored 30 goals become available? Very few.
Bottom line, you aren't getting him for the same bag of pucks you got Kesler for. |
